Pokémon Legends: Z-A: Japanese Editions Compared

Pokémon LEGENDS Z-A · The Pokémon Company (sold by Nintendo in Japan)

Four Japanese releases of the same game: the Nintendo Switch package, the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition package, a Switch 2 all-in-one package that adds the paid add-on M次元ラッシュ on one game card, and a Japan-only Switch 2 console bundle that ships the game as a download.

Key differences (from official pages)
  • All four Japanese releases list the same 10 text languages, including English, on the official product page.
  • The official page notes that even on the Japanese-Language System (Japan only) Switch 2, the language can be selected inside the game.
  • Only the all-in-one package puts the paid add-on M次元ラッシュ on the game card. With the other packages it is sold separately.
  • The Japan-only console bundle has no game card: the game is a download, and the console itself is limited to Japanese and Japan-region Nintendo Accounts. Nintendo lists this bundle as discontinued.

Software language and console language are separate things.

A game listing English does not change the console. Nintendo's Japan-market “Japanese-Language System (Japan only)” Switch 2 supports Japanese only as its system language and links only to Nintendo Accounts set to Japan; Nintendo says software normally follows the system language, but some games let you change it individually. See the import guide for the official wording.
